David Glasgow Elected As Director Emeritus With Lifetime Board Seat
At their annual meeting on Tuesday, the Bluecoats Board of Directors unanimously elected the organization’s first full-time Director, David Glasgow, to a lifetime board seat. He joins Ted Swaldo as one of the organization’s only two Directors Emeritus.
More than a decade ago, the Board created a class of board membership with lifetime privileges and granted the honor to Ted Swaldo, whose leadership over the last forty years has ensured Bluecoats’ long-term success and longevity. In fact, it was Ted who, in 2004, orchestrated David’s hiring as our organization’s first full-time employee. Now, he joins Ted as the recipient of this prestigious distinction.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be elected Director Emeritus by the Bluecoats Board of Directors. Performing in the corps, and serving as the Executive Director for 15 years was truly a privilege, and I’m excited to continue to assist the organization the best I can in this new role.
I’m equally honored to serve in this role alongside my fellow Director Emeritus Ted Swaldo. Ted’s been an incredible mentor for me in my time with the corps, and in life. With both Ted and I tied to the organization through this lifetime appointment, it ensures consistent stewardship for the Bluecoats for years to come.”
The Board of Directors, and the entire Bluecoats Community, are proud of our long line of outstanding leadership. David’s service as Director Emeritus will ensure this generational leadership continues on, and provides our organization and its programming the deep bench of institutional knowledge and leadership that fosters our success.
