Supporting Our Mission

The Bluecoats Endowment is a collection of funds set aside to support the long-term sustainability and future of our mission. Today, our focus is on investing in the endowment so that one day, its returns will support our operations. Making a gift or planned giving pledge to the Bluecoats endowment is a sustainable investment in the future of Bluecoats

About the endowment

Established in 2017, the Bluecoats Endowment consists of the Bluecoats Endowment primary fund, the Frank Pasquerella Memorial Scholarship Fund, and the Asset Replacement Fund. Each year, half of all sustaining gifts from members of The Shield are contributed to the primary fund. Donors may also choose to start funds of their own in the Bluecoats Endowment, and direct the proceeds to a specific cause or purpose at Bluecoats.

The Bluecoats Endowment causes us to think about our longterm vision for our organization, and to invest in that future. One day this fund will be a vital source of funding and an integral reserve of our resources.

— Mike Scott, CEO

More About The Endowment

  • The Bluecoats Endowment is managed and invested by the Stark Community Foundation as a part of their Community Organizations endowment program. Bluecoats’ Finance Committee regularly reviews the performance of the fund, and Bluecoats submits to an Independent Audit annually, which includes a review of the fund.

  • Yes! Donors wishing to start their own fund in the Bluecoats Endowment should reach out to us here, or call the office. A minimum donation of $20,000 is required to start a subfund (may be paid in installments.)

A minimum donation of $500 is required to donate to the primary fund. You may also donate directly to the Frank Pasquerella fund here.

  • Today, Bluecoats does not draw any operating funds from the primary fund or asset replacement fund. We intend to continue investing in the endowment until such a day that drawing from the fund will make a meaningful impact on our operating budget.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of many donors, we do draw from the Frank Pasquerella Fund annually to fund full ride scholarships to local high school students that attend The Blue Way Summer Arts Camp and other community and educational programs.
